Starting this week Kindergarten students line up on blacktop in the mornings.  Teachers will meet the class on the blacktop and take the class to the kinder classrooms.  Parents/guardians will no longer be allowed to go past the kinder gate into the kinder courtyard.  You may wait with your child however, until the teacher picks up the class.

Thursday, August 12 at 2:30 pm Smoothie Thursdays are Back!  Smoothies will be on sale at the front of the school each Thursday weather permitting.

DONATION NEEDED for cases of water for our classrooms.  If you are able to donate a case of water please drop it off at the school office between 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.  Thank you!

LOST AND FOUND – Please note that the lost and found cart will be at the front of the school each morning before the 8:15 am bell and at the end of the day until 4:00 pm.  Remember to use a permanent marker to put your child’s name on jackets, sweaters, lunch bags, and water bottles.
 
VOLUNTEERS – There will be a Volunteer In-service on Tuesday, September 7 at 6:00 pm in the school auditorium.  Volunteering at Camarena is very much appreciated but in order to make sure that all conditions are safe we will begin allowing volunteers on the campus beginning in the 2nd Quarter (October 5).  All volunteers on campus prior to starting on campus must do the following:  Have current TB test results, COVID19 Vaccination Card, and Fingerprints (Complete LIVESCAN Form provided by school office).  All documents or copies must be turned in to the school office and volunteers will be notified once they are cleared to work on campus.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

  • There will be NO Visitors or Volunteers allowed on the campus during the instructional day at this time.
  • There will be no class assignment changes at this time.
  • Camarena does not offer a delivery service for students to pick up lunches, jackets, water bottles, homework, etc.
  • Adults are not permitted to use the restrooms designated for children.  Adults must use the Adult restrooms.

SAFETY REMINDERS:

  • PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL SICK.
  • EVERYONE is required to wear a mask when indoors during the school day. 
  • If your child is absent due to illness, the parent/guardian MUST confirm which symptoms the student had.  If any of the symptoms align with COVID-19 we will be required to get additional information before the child can return to school.  If the symptoms are part of a chronic condition, please make sure that information is in the health office records.

Childcare: Located right next door, Concordia is open for enrollment in their Before/After School Program for students K through 4th grade. It will begin on Monday, July 26.  The tuition is $120/per week  for the After School Program and $135/per week for Before and After School care.

Monday, July 19 Class Lists will be posted by 2:30 pm and parents may come on campus to take a tour and see where their child’s classroom is located.  Classrooms will not be open.  Then at 6:00 pm there will be more information at the Virtual Parent Information Night on Zoom Register HereThis event will not be recorded.

Wednesday, July 21 is the First Day of School.  Supervision and/or Breakfast begins at 7:30 am.  Parents may drop their children off or remain outside with their child.  Students in grades 1-3 will report to the blacktop.  Students in grades 4-6 will report directly to their classrooms upstairs and wait outside the classroom door until 8:15 am.  Students in Kindergarten will report with their parent/guardian to the auditorium for and Orientation that will begin at 8:30 am.  Students in Kindergarten will leave with their parent/guardian after the orientation.  Students in Grades 1-6 will be dismissed at 1:15 pm since this is a Minimum Day.  

Thursday, July 22 – School starts at 8:15 am and ends at 2:45 pm for a Regular Day Schedule.

Friday, July 23 is a Minimum Day and Kinders are dismissed at 1:00 pm and everyone else is dismissed at 1:15 pm.

At this time EVERYONE is required to wear a mask when indoors during the school day.  Please check your child’s health before leaving home – there are no more temperature checks.  Students will not be required to wear masks outside.

There will be NO Visitors or Volunteers allowed on the campus for the first 3 weeks.  Beginning August 9 Volunteers may begin to come on campus.  More information will follow in the next few weeks on the requirements for Volunteers.

Please note that there will be no class assignment changes for the first 3 weeks of school.  

Please note that we do not offer a delivery system for students so make sure they have everything they need before arriving to school.
