Reminders/Campus News
- Parent/Teacher conferences continue this week, September 15-20. Please make sure to that you have scheduled time with your child’s teacher. During conference time we follow a minimum day dismissal. TK dismisses at 1:00; Kinder dismisses at 1:10 and Grades 1-6 dismiss at 1:15 each day during conferences. Make sure you have a plan to have students picked up on time so teachers can conduct conferences.
- Red Carpet Awards- are a way we recognize some students that have shown achievement in either academics or citizenship throughout the first quarter. Not all students will receive an award every quarter. If your child is being recognized during this assembly, you will receive notification from the teacher.
- Thanks to our amazing PTA for purchasing collaborative recess/learning games for kindergarten! These games are just one way to help students learn to share, take turns, work together, and have fun!

District Attendance Competition
We are excited to announce our district-wide Attendance Competition as we wrap up Quarter 1! Students, classes, and schools are invited to share why missing just two days of school per month is too many absences. To participate, submit a 15-second video, short essay, drawing, or photo to heather.cruz@cvesd.org by September 18 answering the question: Why do you think 2 is Too Many? Winners will be announced on September 20 and featured on our social media. #AttendanceMatters
PTA Membership Drive
PTA is sponsoring a “PTA Popsicle” Membership Drive this week! The class with the highest number of PTA members in each grade level by Friday, September 20 will win a popsicle party. Even if you already joined this year, you still count. We will also have extra recess for each class that has 100% joined (and a special treat for the teacher). Just by joining PTA you are helping support our school. PTA supports all students on campus by hosting community events, offering teacher mini grants, supporting the prize cart, purchasing technology, recess and PE equipment, classroom supplies, books and literature, programs and software, etc. Which class will win the contest?

PTA Event Committee
If you are interested in helping plan our Winter Wonderland in December, the PTA event committee is meeting for the first time this Tuesday, September 17th at 5pm at the school library. The goal is to brainstorm the overall idea of what we want Winter Wonderland to be (venders, theme, etc.) Hope to see you there!
