School Site Council

We need to elect THREE parent representatives to Camarena’s School Site Council (SSC) for the 2024- 2025 school year. The purpose of this council is to monitor the progress of our school plan, which includes the budgets to accompany it. Parent representatives provide valuable input concerning the curriculum and activities that expand the core curriculum assured by district categorical funding.

The School Site Council is an elected decision-making body for the school. Parents represent half of the 10-member committee.

If you have the time and the interest to serve on the School Site Council (SSC), please provide your name and information below. It is a wonderful opportunity to become very familiar with our school and help provide input into school-wide decision-making. This is a 2-year term. Sixth grade parents can serve only one year but may run in this election. If you are interested in having your name placed on the ballot, please fill out and return the information form below. This form needs to be completed by Monday morning, August 5, 2024.  SSC meetings are held monthly; 3:00-4:00 pm and they will be in person with a virtual option.

2023-2024 State Assessment Results for current 4th-6th Graders

Last spring your child took the Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments for English language arts and mathematics. Students in grade 5 also took the California Science Test (CAST). The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) tests can be combined with other measures like report card grades, classroom work, and teacher observations to give families and teachers a more complete picture of each child’s learning.  You should have received more information this past Friday from the district.  I have included the attachments here on how to access your child’s information/scores.
