English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC)
We will host our first ELAC meeting of the year. ELAC is a school level committee of parents, staff, and community members designated to advise school officials on English Learner programs and services. Everyone is invited to attend this Monday at 8:30 and learn more about ELAC and how we can support all students.

CHP presents Trunk or Treat at Camarena Friday, October 28, 2022
Plan to join our school community for an evening of fun and excitement! Trunk or Treat will start at 5:00 on October 28, followed by a family movie night on the field! We will also have various food vendors selling delicious food, so make it an evening and join in the fun.
Positive Solutions to Challenging Behaviors Virtual Training- November 10, 2022
Do you feel like you are at your wits end with your child’s behaviors? Have you tried all the punishments and rewards but feel they just aren’t working? You are not alone! So often we find ourselves as parents stuck between trying to be supportive of children’s
emotions, while also trying to effectively discipline their behaviors—Yet too often get stuck in a power struggle and the behaviors and meltdowns just don’t stop! Join Chelsea Gould, Licensed Educational Psychologist and mother of a “strong willed child” to learn about Positive Solutions to help support your child’s emotions, while also setting limits and reinforcing the good behaviors you want to see more of. 28- Please join us from 5pm-8pm in the bus loop and rear field for our 2nd Annual Trunk or Treat Movie Night partnered with California Highway Patrol. This year we’ll have food vendors on site so families can have dinner, trick or treat and watch a movie.
31- Costume Parade- The parade will start at 8:30. Costumes need to be worn over regular clothes. Costumes will only be worn to school and during the parade. Community is invited to attend and take pictures. Please no blood, gore, or masks. Boo Grams will be passed out during the day.

10- Free Virtual Training for Preschool and TK Parents 5:00-7:00 “Positive Solutions to Challenging Behaviors” 2-hour crash course of all the best parts of our 7-part series Positive Solutions for Families (PSF) training. In this workshop parents will learn about why challenging behaviors occur, what prevention strategies they can use, how they can teach their child new skills to replace these challenging behaviors and how they can change their responses as adults to help reinforce the positive behaviors they want to see more of.
